Conversations with God through imagination, poetry, & art.

i stand here

I stand here—
the kitchen counter
an altar
where words come and
prayers in opened hand.
I raise my arms,
eyes squeezed shut
to the teapot’s
reflective chrome,
and make this vow:
Nothing you say
I won’t believe.
You’ve come too far,
fought too many battles,
for me to doubt you now.
I love it here,
preparing to be loved
so well.

My kitchen counter is also my altar! He meets me here.
I love this poem. So very sweet. 💝

I never thought of a kitchen counter to be a place where God can meet you! What a brilliant and great way for God to connect with you! My bedroom is best for me when I listen to His music. In the car and in between the notes and lyrics!

Love the creativity He lets flow through you!
